As I mentioned before, the boating off-season can seem awfully long. A look out my back kitchen window reveals my three boats hangin” on for dear life, waiting for warmer weather and Spring decloaking. Then, watching heavy wet snow do its very best to collapse covers adds to that rankling feeling I carry with me through the cold months. But it’s also a great time to learn stuff, and one thing I learned, well, not really learned but remembered, is that no amount of complaining will make things any better. I recognized, anew, that I can allow myself to be miserable during these cold weather months or I can take the road less traveled and enjoy the down time. Since I’m gonna be cold either way, I figured it’s better to be “happy” cold rather than “miserable” cold. Attitude adjustment: Accomplished! So now I can sit back and enjoy some Forester or O’Brien media and pipedream about boating trips to come with Spring. It also allows time for updating the to-do list for each of the boats. I plan on hitting the list with gusto as soon as the weather allows. Each of the boats has some necessary tasks (projects) to be done before they hit the water and I shared the list for each.
